Privacy

If you sign up to stay in touch, you give me your email address. EmailOctopus keeps the list for me, and I use it only to tell you about shows, new music and lesson openings. I never sell it or share it. Every email I send to the list has an unsubscribe link, so you can leave whenever you like.

My emails go out through EmailOctopus, which can show me whether an email was opened or a link was clicked. When you join, Formspree also sends me a quick email so I know.

If you email me or fill in the booking form on my Performances page, I use your details only to reply and to plan your event or lessons. The booking form reaches my inbox through Formspree.

I count visits so I know which pages people find useful. The counts come from Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you. For each visit it records the page, the site you came from, your general location (country, region and city), and your type of device and browser. It tells one visitor from another with a code that is thrown away after 24 hours, so nothing links your visits over time. I only ever see the totals, and they're kept for up to a year.

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The videos on my homepage come from YouTube, which may set its own cookies when the video player loads. The fonts come from Google Fonts and the animation code from Cloudflare, and neither sets cookies. Links to Facebook, Bandcamp and YouTube take you to those sites, which have their own privacy rules.

The site is hosted on Vercel by OBdesign, the Salt Spring and Victoria web studio that built it. Neither of us sells or shares your information.
